San Francisco Open for Business Week, November 11-17
A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR Willie L. Brown, Jr.

A few weeks ago, we in San Francisco launched the "America: Open for Business" campaign, to let the world know that this city, and this nation, will rise from the ashes of the national tragedy and get this economy moving again. That effort has since been picked up by mayors across the country, and "America: Open for Business" has stretched from coast to coast.

In that same spirit of re-investing in America by re-investing in our own businesses, city leaders and the San Francisco business community are pleased to announce SAN FRANCISCO: OPEN FOR BUSINESS! WEEK, November 11-17.

This exciting week is designed to stimulate the local economy, boost consumer confidence and allow the vast collection of San Francisco businesses, both small and large, to show the world what they're made of, and what they've got to offer!

During the week of November 11-17, businesses across the city will proudly display their "America: Open for Business" signs, and encourage visitors and San Franciscans alike to come in and discover the excitement of SAN FRANCISCO: OPEN FOR BUSINESS! WEEK.

As the Mayor of this city, I encourage local business owners to participate in this effort; I encourage San Francisco workers and residents to support the local economy by shopping, dining and entertaining in San Francisco; and most of all, I encourage the people of Northern California, and the world over, to come re-discover San Francisco!

Re-discover the City's world-famous attractions and hidden neighborhood treasures! Come back to downtown! Enjoy our unique small-business districts! Treat yourself to our amazing diversity of world-class restaurants! Visit our museums, our theaters, our nightclubs! Take a cable car half-way to the stars! Whatever you do, spend some time in the City by the Bay!
